Intellectual property: Protecting bright ideas

Research results published by the Federation of Small Businesses in May 2015 showed that 30% of small firms with intellectual property are reliant on those rights for at least 75% of their turnover. It also showed that a quarter of businesses with IP rights had experienced an infringement during the last two years. However, only a tiny proportion have IP cover in place and most businesses only appreciate the value of IP insurance once it is too late.
