Enterprise Bill: Time is money

The Enterprise Bill, which went through its second reading in the House of Lords in October will create an implied term in insurance contracts, obliging insurers to pay claims within a ‘reasonable time’. Policyholders would be entitled to remedies – including unliquidated damages – if the insurer breached that term.
