Case Study: Flood Protection
How we came to Barbie's rescue
In 2004, a tornado struck Mattel's distribution centre in Texas. Rain fell so hard that a corner of the roof collapsed. A shallow sheet of water covered the facility where millions of Barbies were stored.
This brief case study tells how FM Global worked with Mattel to develop a solution that would reduce any future exposure.
"After a loss of this size, it would have been easy for FM Global to bid farewell and move on. We didn't see any of that. They are in it for the long haul." Todd Marumoto, Director of Risk Management, Mattel.
