Getting tough on data: The General Data Protection Regulation

New European Commission regulation - the General Data Protection Regulation - is designed to harmonise the rules already in place across the European Union member states. And, while the details are yet to be finalised, it is expected that they will bring in tougher requirements and higher fines for organisations found in breach of the rules.
