With even moderate storms like Abigail and then Barney causing significant damage across the UK, windstorms are very much on the insurance agenda. However, a recent survey carried out by Post and the Met Office saw European windstorms ranked behind flood as a factor in assessing natural hazards. Only 27% of respondents considered it ‘very important', compared to 63% for flood.
