Cybersecurity: Companies know enough to worry, but not enough to take action

Sometimes, urgent issues go unaddressed simply because people do not know how to take the first step.

Take cybersecurity. On one hand, 85 percent of the risk managers and senior executives recently surveyed by the American International Group (AIG) were "very or somewhat concerned" about cyber risks. But in a 2012 Risk and Finance Manager Survey by Towers Watson & Co., 41 percent of respondents thought their own IT department security was adequate and 72 percent of respondents did not purchase network security/privacy liability policy. Clearly, there is a disconnect.

In this report, Michael Schmitt and Lisa Phillips of Lockton's Global Technology and Privacy Practice walk you through the steps your company can take to prepare for responding to a security breach.
