East London extreme rainfall: Importance of Granula data

The analysis in this paper shows that extreme daily rainfall became more common from the 1960s onwards. Analysis of rainfall shows that the frequency of extreme events increased across the board, with the increase being more significant for larger events.

This report shows that climate trends can be hidden unless the data is analysed at an appropriate granularity. Its objective is to evaluate rainfall trends over the past 100 years based on annual, seasonal and monthly rainfall patterns.
